Support Northwest Girlchoir
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Northwest Girlchoir welcomes donors like you to fuel our strategic goals around community, equity, access and student voice. Help our choristers learn and grow, and you’ll experience along with them the sense of joy, belonging, and connection that happens through choral music.
Community
As a donor, you are invited to help choristers connect through retreats and collaborations throughout the year. You are encouraged to fund – and be a part of – community activities, such as free choral workshops with nationally renowned clinicians. Local, regional, and international tours build connection among choristers and with new audiences, and you can provide financial assistance to make tours possible for any chorister who wishes to take part.
Equity
We are committed to racial and gender equity in our classrooms and throughout the organization. Your generosity helps us ensure racially equitable and gender inclusive pedagogy and artistic programming, including engagement of culture bearers for context, text, and performance practices. Our Equity Committee, made up of board, staff, parents, and choristers, works to eliminate barriers and increase belonging at Northwest Girlchoir.
Access
Since the pandemic, we have experienced a significant increase in requests from chorister families for financial assistance, and have more than doubled budgeted funds to meet those needs for choir tuition, tours, camp, and uniform fees. More than 35 families requested assistance this year, representing 16% of choristers. With the support of donors like you, we can commit to meeting the financial needs of each family, so that each young person can thrive in our choirs.
Student Voice
Your contributions help us center student voice in all aspects of our organization, including key decision-making. Some choristers serve on the Equity Committee, and some take part in a leadership council that gives them a sense of agency to build their community. Choristers are also involved in developing concepts and programs, such as our new uniforms that provide more choice and comfort for choristers of different gender identities and body types.
Northwest Girlchoir is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and all donations are tax deductible.
