Meet our Spring Fling Performers!
Elizabeth has been in love with music since the age of two when she would demand that her mother sing through the entire catalog of Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes for hours a day. Piano lessons came next, then Northwest Girlchoir and afternoons spent imitating the vocal stylings of her idols. Ella Fitzgerald. Joni Mitchell. Even the sometimes-over-the-top Mariah Carey. Eventually, in the aftermath of a confusing bout with love during college, she took a stab at writing a song. It wasn't any kind of poetic masterpiece, but it was actually pretty damn good. Since then, she has steadily (erratically, really) created a collection of original songs about everything from burning toast to learning to live with uncertainty.
Northwest Girlchoir Ensemble
Northwest Girlchoir Ensemble's annual performance at Spring Fling is a tradition that showcases this talented group of choristers! Made up of 17 auditioned Amore singers who want the experience and challenge of performing in a smaller group, Ensemble's repertoire includes more a cappella music, chamber music, and pop and vocal jazz arrangements.
Roosevelt High School Jazz Ensemble
Welcoming Spring Fling guests as they arrive, the Roosevelt Jazz ensemble is part of the dynamic performing arts department at Roosevelt High School, a public school in Seattle, Washington. The program consists of four instrumental big bands and one vocal jazz group, all supported by the Roosevelt Jazz Booster Club.
